First official day of the journey takes us to Tallahassee Florida (KOA) for an overnight. We are making a conscious decision to travel lightly each day we travel to save on gas expenses as well as our mental health (okay mine!)...after all how much nagging can I do if Les keeps it under 70? Complimentary waffle breakfast in the morning to start us off! Heading to Robertsdale, Alabama area for tthe Saturday night stay. Total miles today was 219.
Hi Pat,
ReplyDeleteTom and I drove home on Sunday. Took over 21 hours, 4 of them in the rain and 1 1/2 standing in bumper to bumper traffic. First there was a bad accident on 275 in north Tampa--a trailer overturned in the median, road work north of Atlanta then at the exit to Ringold, GA, where we saw where the tornado riped through that town. What a mess--very sad. Hope you do better than we did.
It is good to be home, though. Very happy to see the kids and grandkids.
It should be a nice time to be driving north. In our area, many of the trees and flowers are blooming. Soon the lilacs will be in bloom.
Drive safe enjoy the trip.
Janet
...and the adventure begins:-) Enjoy!!!
